MASON PREPARATORY SCHOOL, established in 1964, is an independent, non-profit, co-educational institution for grades 1-8. The School’s mission is to provide students a holistic education with emphasis on excellent academics and citizenship in preparation for secondary education, all within a nurturing atmosphere. Diligence, cooperation, and a distinct esprit de corps create a wholesome academic environment where learning, achievement, respect for self and others, integrity, community service, and personal growth are emphasized and nurtured.

Accredited in 1993 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and by the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA), MASON PREPARATORY SCHOOL is located on the peninsula of historic Charleston, South Carolina, across from the City Marina.

With its excellent and challenging curriculum, MASON PREP offers fine arts, state-of-the-art technology and health/physical education. The opportunity for students in grade 8 to receive high school credit in Algebra I and French or Spanish is provided. In addition to a comprehensive curriculum, MASON PREP students have access to various afterschool activities and afterschool care. A broad range of instructional and/or competitive sports, where emphasis is on team play and sportsmanship, is offered to children in all grades.
